Ownership: Spare parts and accessories for Buster boats

Spare parts and accessories for Buster boats

More than 130,000 Buster boats have been manufactured over the years, and we also serve owners of old boats. Our spare parts list includes more than 5000 items, including rarer boat parts that are available from the manufacturer.

Spare parts for boats are generally available for ten years after the end of model production, but most components are available for significantly longer. In practice, the most important spare parts are still available for a significant number of older Buster models.

Buster does not sell spare parts and accessories directly. Instead, customers are served by our network of authorised dealers. Buster has more than 110 dealers in Europe, some of which also offer spare parts and accessories on their online stores. Your authorised Buster dealer can help you with any spare parts or accessories you need for your boat, and you can also ask them about the current availability of individual items.

Accessories for Buster boats

A wide range of accessories is available for all new and recent Buster boats from our network of authorised dealers. The most popular accessories include canvas tops, harbour covers, transducer brackets and cushion sets. Seat-stowage boxes and watersports bracket are also available for many models.

For anglers, a modular set of fishing equipment is available from Buster that includes casting decks, rod boxes and bow engine mounting bracket. The fishing package can be retrofitted to all 2018 Buster M models and all 2017 and newer Buster S models, as well as all Buster XL and XXL models from 2020 onwards.

Buster canopies, canvas tops and harbour covers

Canvas tops and harbour covers are available from the manufacturer mainly for models less than 10 years old. Numerous canvas parts and fastening accessories, such as zippers, slide rails and gunwale fasteners are also available as spare parts.

Many canopy manufacturers, such as MP-Venekuomu and VA-varuste in Finland, have patterns for older Buster models from the late 1970s onwards. Canopy manufacturers also offer repair services for old canopies and can, for example, replace broken or faded canopy windows with new ones. Canopies can be repaired conveniently during the autumn or winter after the boating season, as delivery times can be longer in the spring.

Availability of spare parts for older Buster models

The availability of spare parts for all Buster boats made in the 21st century is very good, and even spare parts for the Buster L, which has been in model range since 1994, are easily available for first-generation boats. The most common spare parts, such as fender profiles, foam padding for seats, and handrails, are available even for the Sun Buster and Buster RS models from the 1980s.

Floor boards are generally available from the manufacturer for model series less than 10 years old. For older boats, the plywood floor board can be renewed by cutting or sawing new boards according to the old model or drawings. The edges of sawn plywood boards should be waterproofed before installation.

Some dealers may also keep floorboards in stock for the most popular older models.

Starting from the 2018 model year, the floor of Buster boats is made from either wear-resistant, maintenance-free composite or non-slip patterned aluminium. Composite boards are not available for older boat models.

Paints and repair paints

The most common paints for the upper hull sides of Buster boats are available from the manufacturer in brush bottles that are suitable for minor repairs. For larger repairs, paint retailers can select or mix the correct shade based on the colour code of the original paint. The most requested colour code is Buster RS orange, RAL 2003.

When repairing the paint on older boat, it is worth noting that due to the effect of UV radiation, the colour tone may no longer exactly match the original tone.

Repairing older aluminium boats

Aluminium is a very durable material, and most damage can be repaired by welding. The factory itself does not offer repair services, but numerous aluminium boat repair and equipment companies can help.

The oldest boats from the 1970s and 1980s were assembled by riveting. To repair these rivets, we recommend an 8 x 12 mm rivet repair kit, which is available from dealers.

Buster Q charts and updates

Buster Q smart displays use Navionics digital charts, while the smart display on older boat models used C-MAP charts. New charts come with free updates for 12 months. Updates are available directly from Navionics and the Buster App.

Buster Q smart displays are compatible with Navionics+ and Platinum+ charts on SD cards.
